Mailing Lists

There are various discussion and mailing lists available that focus on the topics of web and information technology accessibility. Conversations range from the specific technical details involved for accessible code to policy and processes to consider in a higher education environment.

How to Subscribe

To sign up for a mailing list:

  1. Choose your desired list from the table below and the link will direct you to the Subscription list page.
  2. Enter your name and email address for the desired mailing list.
  3. To confirm your identity and prevent third parties from subscribing you to a list against your will, an email message with a confirmation code will be sent to the address you specify.
  4. Wait for this message to arrive, then follow the instructions to confirm the operation.

If you do not receive a confirmation message, it is likely that your district or college spam filters are blocking these messages. Please This email address is being protected from spambots. Alternatively, you can also create a user name and password if you wish to be able to modify your list settings or view the list archives.

CAPED Mailing List For CAPED members and announcements regarding CAPED events.
CAPED AT CIG List The Assistive Technology CAPED Interest Group.
CAPED Counseling and Career Development For CAPED members for counseling and career development communications. 
CCC-WEB-ACCESSIBILITY Dedicated for California Community Colleges staff to discuss web accessibility.
DEAF Mailing List For discussions on deaf and hard-of-hearing issues.
DSPS Directors List For DSPS Directors to share and exchange information regarding services, processes, and questions related to serving students with disabilities in the California Community Colleges.
ID_DD_AUTISM CAPED Interest Group for ID, DD, and Autism.
CCC Accessibility Center Mailing List For California Community College representatives to discuss issues pertaining to electronic and information technology and web accessibility. Announcements regarding the availability of new and current resources from the CCC Accessibility Center are posted to this list.
LD Mailing List For discussions related to learning disabilities.
Workability III For discussion regarding Workability III.

 List Archives

To access the mailing list archives:

  1. Visit the List Archive web page.
  2. Choose the mailing list you wish to review. Most lists are private and will require you to login to view the archives.
  3. If you do not remember your mailing list password, just click on the "Forgot Password?" link to reset your password. You will be able to login with this new password.

 

External Mailing Lists

The following mailing lists offer communication forums on web, assistive technology, and information technology accessibility with a focus on higher education. These lists are not managed by the CCC Accessibility Center.

EDUCAUSE IT Accessibility Group The IT Accessibility Constituent Group helps the EDUCAUSE community to assess the scope of issues of IT accessibility and focus on how to approach campus-wide universal access to information available via technology.
ATHEN Mailing List The ATHEN mailing list is an open communication forum for asking questions and exchanging ideas as it relates to assistive technology, web accessibility, alternate formats, disability, and higher education.
WebAIM Mailing List The WebAIM web accessibility mailing list is for anyone interested in discussing web accessibility issues. Questions and comments should pertain to web accessibility topics.
